I have cried a lot today. I had to cook my own mother’s day meal. In the past, I have planned a whole mother’s day thing for my mom and MIL, and this year we’re not speaking to MIL (long overdue) and my mom made plans with her mom (understandable). And my husband decided to literally not plan a single thing. I mopped the floor and cleaned the toilet and then I just left. I went to Lowes & looked at flowers. I really don’t want much. I asked earlier this week what the plan was and suggested a bunch of things, but he wouldn’t take initiative to plan one thing out of the whole year. So if I don’t plan something, we do nothing.

You’re not a brat. I have amazing kids and I feel I’ve done everything for them. Even now as young adults the call I answer. They need help I’m there. Mother’s Day I made myself steak and ate alone and cried at the table all by myself. Barely text to say happy Mother’s Day. No breakfast. Nothing. I feel selfish but I don’t ask for much. A simple hug and a phone call would have made my day. Worst Mother’s Day to date for me

I’m sorry honey. I understand!! One of three made me feel loved and appreciated. I guess that’s better than none. I make all their days special and a big deal. It hurts! On top of that it’s even harder for me bc my own mother never loved me. She spoke the words out of obligation only. You know the rest. Love ya sweet girl!!

Door dashed myself breakfast while my husband slept in. He asked what I wanted about noon yesterday. Nice planning. Didn’t get me anything even though he knows I had his Father’s Day present a month ago. Compromised for lunch at like 2pm after I cooked the kids lunch. Asked me what I wanted to do with the day. I started working from home because I’m behind at work. He’s out mowing the yard. I appreciate him doing yard work but I’m not important. No effort. Just another day.
