@dr.rickpescatore: The siloing of our medical system has led to patients being hurt through lack of information and experience sharing. We’ve let a half-baked version of “evidence-based medicine” eclipse patients’ best interests at the bedside. #wellness #nutrition #cyclicvomiting #chs #supplements

I think the work you’re doing is incredible. As a naturopathic doctor, I really appreciate hearing someone speak honestly and thoughtfully about complex chronic illness. It’s a large reason why I chose naturopathic medicine instead of conventional allopathic medicine. I’ve seen too many people with complex chronic conditions dismissed or reduced to isolated symptoms, so it’s refreshing to hear someone within conventional medicine acknowledge these issues openly and clinically.

My daughter has been diagnosed with this and 24 hospitalizations later ... they now think it's a symptom of dysautonomia but not the pots kind. But another doc isn't sure if it's dysautonomia so now nobody knows what's going on. She's on a feeding tube to her jejunum and we are in diagnostic purgatory while she's been prescribed 20 different meds that may or may not work

I have CVS, diagnosed as a kid, still have it as an adult just a little different in frequency. It was always explained to me as a mix between abdominal cramping and an abdominal migraine.

My daughter has this…we didn’t even know until I noticed a pattern. It always starts around 5:30am and ends around 9am, then she’ll be 100% better the rest of the day. It happens at random times as well

My son had suffered with this since he was 8 years old (on and off). He just got diagnosed at age 20 due to a blood test that proved that his coq10 was very low!!! Wish I had known this years ago! Dr told us to supplement coq10. Should I be concerned about other mitochondrial dysfunction problems?

Mine started around 17, with my periods. It would last until I would be hospitalized & basically knocked out for enough time for my body to reset. It plagued me all of my young adult life, in & out of the hospital. I also had severe endometriosis. Since my full hysterectomy I haven’t had another episode. The worst part was that no one had a clue about what was happening at the time.

When i was a young child I used to aake each night, vomit and got back to bed. it happened when I was around 4 or 5 and went on for a year or two. my mother never took me to the doctor. I now have hEds and have had lots of gut issues, Sibo and ibs. Any idea what mightve causes the vomiting as a child and would it be maybe connected to hEds?

I would actually prefer that my providers silo my personal health information more. There are plenty of providers who misdiagnose and create hurdles that shouldn’t be there in the first place that are automatically trusted over your own testimony on your body. I am all for sharing data that is anonymous, but I am tired of my information being loaded into a online system that is wildly flawed and populated with plenty of flawed providers.

My 7 year old daughter had a bout of this. It went on for 3 weeks and stopped mysteriously. It was really scary and we struggled to get help. I really hope it doesn't start up again.

Adults too never had it as a child, I did move to Michigan to be near my grandchildren, and got a kind of lead and other heavy metals as well as chemicals from Flint - there's other ways to get it
