@dust2dreamy: I decided to transform my basic backyard into a luxury retreat, and here is the full progress. I started by pouring a solid foundation for the custom deck and pergola to create a dedicated lounge space. From there, I hand-built the koi pond and waterfall, finished with a modern paver walkway and lush landscaping to bring the whole vision to life. - Layout & Prep: Marked the ground with spray paint and excavated the grass. - Foundation: Framed the area and poured concrete for a level, durable base. - Decking & Pergola: Installed the composite deck boards and assembled the modern black-post pergola with a privacy slat wall. - Pond Excavation: Dug out the custom shape for the koi pond and laid the protective liner. - Rockwork: Hand-stacked natural stones to create a functional, cascading waterfall. - Walkway & Landscaping: Laid down a modern paver path with gravel infill and planted ornamental bushes and flowers. - Final Reveal: Added the patio furniture and introduced the koi to their new home. #backyardtransformation #DIYbuild #saytisfying #gardendesign #satisfyingbuild
