@the_vintagearian: Leave a 💐 if you like! 🤭 The final day has come for my old wicker laundry basket! 🧺I still kept its remains, despite I had been gifted a new old one for my birthday by a kind follower, because I had a feeling it might come in handy some day … 😇 My mother never liked Mother’s Day celebrations when I was little: In her views there would be no need for a “special day” to honour a mother’s care work and the mental load of kin keeping if it was not generally seen, respected and acknowledged in daily life in the first place. In a time where these aspects were systematically gendered responsibilities I think she was really on to something 🙌🏻 Fast forward to yesterday 😅 I intended to maintain our tradition of not celebrating until a desperate call from one of my siblings-in-law. They asked me to take care of a flower bouquet in all our names for mother’s day since they were not able to do so themselves 🙃 Given our different upbringing. I found myself torn between expectations… and in the end paid a visit to my local farmers market 😎 Transformed with the abundance of yellow tulips I hope the old basket’s last job was a good choice 🫶🏼 #cottagecore #vintage #mothersday #flowers #asmr
