I used to think believing was enough. But then I read James 2:19—“Even the demons believe—and shudder.” That verse hit different. Because believing in God isn’t the goal—even the devil believes. What sets us apart is obedience, surrender, and fruit. Jesus said, “If you love Me, keep My commandments” (John 14:15). We can’t say we know God if we don’t walk with Him. And we definitely can’t say we love Him if we don’t obey Him. This is not a “saved by works” post, as some have suggested in the past. This is a love for God post. A “He’s my Lord, not just my Savior” post. Yes—we are saved by grace through faith alone. “It is the gift of God—not by works, so that no one can boast” (Ephesians 2:8–9). But that saving faith transforms us. “Faith by itself, if it does not have works, is dead” (James 2:17). Jesus didn’t just save us from something—He saved us for something. “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them... and teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19–20). That’s the Great Commission. And if we truly follow Him, we obey—because we are His hands and feet. We obey to shine His light: “Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven” (Matthew 5:16). We obey to prevent others from stumbling: “Whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin…” (Matthew 18:6). We obey to honor God and follow His design: “Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path” (Psalm 119:105). We obey to make heaven crowded: “The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few” (Matthew 9:37–38). We obey because His commands protect us: “The commands of the Lord are radiant, giving light to the eyes” (Psalm 19:8). We obey because it’s not about what He can do for us—but what we can do for Him: “Whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God” (1 Corinthians 10:31). We don’t obey to get saved—we obey because we are saved. Because we love Him. Because we trust Him. Because He is worthy. “We love because He first loved us” (1 John 4:19). So here’s your sign: stop settling for belief. Start living like He’s Lord. → foxesanddoe.com #FaithInAction #James219 #ObeyGod #BeliefVsObedience      #creatorsearchinsights
