the last job I quit i told them Monday of the week i was quitting. the hr lady was going on vacation so on Wednesday after lunch she had an exit interview with me and she handed me a check for the week, so i left Wednesday

if you give notice put it in an email so it's time-stamped and if they terminate you after they have to pay you for anytime left of that period as long as you don't give them cause. also check your company's policies and state laws about any PTO or benefit compensation
