@hiemilynoelle: In January 2024, Judge Toal denied the motion for a new trial, finding that while the clerk was not credible, her comments did not sufficiently influence the jury to warrant a new trial. Despite Judge Toal’s ruling, that alleged tampering didn't change the verdict, the Supreme Court took the case to review if those actions violated Murdaugh’s right to a fair trial.
