@janecraighuntsforclothes: As it gets colder, I want clothes that feel as comfortable as a tracksuit but make me feel a bit more polished with basically no extra effort. At the start it was harder to do than I imagined but now I’ve worked out some shortcuts to hit that mark, to share with you. My No. 1 shortcut for this is to buy clothes that already have the polish built-in. That way, the clothes do a lot of the work for me and I don’t have to spend a lot of time thinking about styling, adding accessories etc. Let me take you through this top as an example of what I’ve discovered. It’s a lovely soft silk cotton fabric, and loose oversized style which makes it comfy. And then the collar looks smarter than a plain crewneck,m. The V-neck draws attention upwards and towards my face, and I also feel it distracts any attention from my slightly heavier bust line. The stripes add interest and depth. And then the navy in the stripe pairs back well with navy pants I already have so it makes it look as though the top and bottom have some reason to be together. Which is also a thing I like to look at. And then even though the pants are loose and therefore comfortable, they sit a bit more nicely because they are cotton velvet than the fabric in lots of tracksuit pants. And the sheen of velvet just adds a bit more polish. And why do I bother? Well it is personal. For me, wearing something as comfy as a tracksuit and a bit more polished helps make my day feel a bit nicer. Top and pants are both from @sportscraft.
