@ktbare82: In major cities there is Uber WAV (wheelchair accessible vehicle) and in most if not all markets they have Uber assist for people who can transfer but just need extra assistance with folding and stowing their chair. I'm not sure which cities have WAV but I know Boston and Chicago do, there are lots of others though. May be worth checking.

go to the rental car area...watch for a couple getting a pickup offer to pay for it if they give you a ride 9 times out of 10 they will give you a lift

I totally understand. Occasionally i have to take my wife to her doctors which happen to be located inside a major hospital here. It takes both of us to hold the doors open so i can push her wheelchair through into the offices
