Over line the upper lip and don’t over line the down lips to give it a balanced look cos you already have full lips, secondly start with a brown lip liner and finish up with lipstick and gloss

the idea was great but I think u r not doing it right try lining under ur lip edges not on top of them so that it should give an illusion that the lips are abit smaller 😊
