Idk why everybody is always so obsessed with the idea of only using one class the whole game. Like yeah you should probably stick to one later on when you can spec into specific armors and accessories for class bonuses, but early game there’s really no reason to not just use everything.

gem staves also have the same issue as the wand of sparking that is the fact they are really inconsistent to get since you need a specific metal and gem combination it can at times be impossible to make a gen staff even if you would have enough materials say you find tons of emeralds but you are in a silver world congratulations you can't make an emerald staff because that requires tungsten not silver so now your only option is to hope you find the correct gem stone for the specific ores you have, make an amber staff which still requires stuff like an extractinator to make or fish does the specific ore you need

Mage lacks early game armor sets, Melee is spoiled in that case and Summoner already had a recent patch to their progression. Ranger is in the null zone of mid

Mage does have a really really bad early game, it’s probably one of the strongest at certain points but the work you have to put on and the defense you have is trash

Melee and range have good progression and can be used anytime but mage can really only be used end game because of the weapons and you need good accessories for mana. Summoner is good if you can dodge but overall melee is still probably the best class.
