It’s onion-growing time! 🧅 If you want those big, beautiful bulbs in your garden, starting onions from seed indoors gives them a great head start. 🌱 Starting seeds indoors: Sow onion seeds about 8–10 weeks before you plan to transplant them outdoors. Sprinkle the seeds over a quality seed-starting mix, cover them lightly, and keep the soil consistently moist. Onion seedlings need plenty of light once they emerge. 🌿 When to transplant: Once the seedlings are about 6–8 inches tall and have pencil-thick stems, they can be transplanted into the garden. Harden them off first by gradually introducing them to outdoor conditions over about a week. ☀️ Growing conditions: Onions do best in full sun, ideally receiving 6–8 hours of sunlight a day.
