Hello syd. I’ve recently reached out to palliative care for help with pain management and I also have Cholangiocarcinoma at the age of 24. I have commented before , the only issue is i live in wales in the UK so i’m not sure 100% how palliative works over in the states. There is a lot of misconceptions about this sort of care, it is not the same as hospice. You can start it at any point of your illness and leave it too, it doesn’t mean it’s the end. They help with mental health as well as physical. A local nurse can come to your home to help so you don’t have to keep going back and forth to hospital and they will find the right medication for your pain/sickness . Please ask your team about this sort of care and if it’s available to you. You can have it alongside your curative treatment, I’m on the abc 10 trial and my scans are stable and I am eligible for it. They also offer art therapy and counselling amongst lots of other things, it has been a god send for me and has saved me from going to A&E every couple of months xx take care lovely lady , I hope you feel better soon.

I hope they are giving you a Dilaudid drip iv with plenty of Zofran/Ondansetron. Syd, this is important: Don’t ask…..tell who ever makes rounds on you this am that you WANT a consult by the department chair/physician who specializes in pain management. Please, Syd, you must advocate for yourself. If you have a moment look up the pain management team at your hospital!! See who is the department chair and tell the physician making rounds this am that you want a consult THIS AM with Dr………..(whoever you choose.) This hospital MUST get your pain under control. Please, please do this, Syd. YOU are the director of your care team., You are very bright and beautiful. I love you, I see you and I hear you. 😘❤️🙏🏻

I was on palliative care for 3 years and had help with pain. I went all the way up to 75mcg pain patches eventually. Keep increasing and being honest with your team. I just finally got off all pain meds and am pain free. Palliative care literally saved my life. You will get the meds straightened out.

Do they know the cause of pain or where it is coming from? I ended up having a Radio Frequency ablation, and celiac block has also helped. Not sure if these would help you. Praying for them to find a solution to your pain and get it way down again. You look so happy at the park yesterday. 🙏❤️

I saw you wearing the paint patch in the sun. Sometimes you can get a patch dump. More medication comes out when it’s warm and then you run out of it too soon. That could be an issue that you had.
