If an adult doesn't like what's for dinner, they make something else or skip it. Physically disciplining a child for not wanting pizza isn't parenting. it's a fast track to creating food issues and anxiety around mealtimes. Kids are allowed to have preferences too. Maybe she didn't like something on the pizza and tried to communicate that and clearly isn't being listened to. Turning mealtime into a punishment is a great way to create an unhealthy relationship with food.
