Dictation doesn't work for me. I have better flow and control by typing/writing. I simply cannot channel my thoughts as effectively if I verbalise them. The difference between my written communication and verbal is vastly different - probably one reason why many people I know struggle to believe I'm a writer. 🤷

I am a pantser, so often I struggle with where the story should go. If I was a plotter I would see how this would be very valuable. I struggle with dictation. Yes, it is a lot of volume (words) but I need to edit them while I go. It simply doesn't work for me at the moment. Still, a great tool.

It doesn't work for me. I have tried to, but while I'm dictating, my mind wanders to another scene, and I lose my train of thought. Maybe it's because I'm more of a panster than a plotter. Hats off to everyone who can do it. 😅

I absolutely agree with you that dictating is not cheating. I am actually dictating at the moment using Wispr. The reason I am dictating is because I have a chronic illness and I suffer from pain in my finger joints, atrociously. That was a bad word choice. Anyway, without the help of dictation, there are days when I wouldn't write and there are sometimes weeks when I would not write, so it is a valuable tool for me. It is a disability aid in a sense, and I will continue to use it with my writing. As you can see from the drivel I've written, it's not always the greatest tool, but that's where editing comes in. Keep up the good work.
