That isn’t going to lead to a larger plant or a higher yield. All growth requires energy and your plant is going to put energy into growing extra, unnecessary roots instead of more foliage. The root system it already has would have continued to grow larger anyway. Now you have a section of roots that will be prone to drying out quickly. Good job.
