Houston hiked up prices downtown. Problem is the stadium is NOT near downtown. Just so dumb.

I think they were expecting a huge number of international fans who would have paid those prices. But you know they won’t travel here now and soccer just isn’t a popular enough sport to be supported by domestic fans only.

I have to go to Dallas the week of the games for work and originally the prices at the Fairmont were $1k-2k a night but they literally didn’t book any rooms and had to release the rooms and are now back to normal pricing lol

FIFA literally forced the hotels to sign these contracts for a ton of rooms and then canceled they played themselves

That’s exactly what happened with the draft and Pittsburgh— people didn’t spend the $500 on parking… people didn’t flood the restaurants… I guess they ate the hot dogs at the event instead. smh.

I guess im a little confused because I thought the world cup was in metlife stadium? also, its so funny to me when people start raising prices when they'd make BANK if they sold rooms for like, $40 a night

Every corporation pretty much has just done this to themselves with everything. Including firing everyone because they thought they were going to save money with AI and then they just found out it’s actually more expensive

World Cup is so much better on tv anyway. 700 a night is insanity.

The hotels are ridiculously expensive and the ticket prices are absurd too. Stadiums can sit empty for all i care. And i say this as an actual soccer fan

I'm going to one game of the world cup. Let me tell you, the tickets, travel, and hotel were cheaper in Toronto, Canada when compared to anything in the US. Let's just say I will be sipping on syrup and listening to the Canadian national anthem

Tickets are a few thousand each. This entire event isn’t for the masses.

I rent a tiny apt in a host city. I wonder where I can post a couch available in my living room for $100/night? 😂 because i'd love some extra gas money 😂

If people cant choose cheeper flight prices, hotels shouldn’t be able to “anticipate” the price hikes

I mean, generally hotels have event costs. I worked at a hotel and we would have event pricing with no discounts. they will end up lowering prices when rooms are empty.
