Shoko and gojo go to bars together both alone and with ijichi. Gojo does not like alcohol and shoko turned to substances after becoming the school doctor to cope so she picks bars with sodas and cakes so gojo can have sugar since he prefers sugar to alcohol

lots of ppl that don't know how to read in the comments so let me break it down: shoko and gojo were undeniably friends in their youth, there was no "leaving shoko out" from gojo and geto's side, she simply didn't go on missions with them bc of her valuable rct. both shoko and gojo cared deeply about each other, but bc of what happened they drifted apart emotionally. gojo considered geto his one and only best friend bc geto was the only one who understood him as they were both the strongest at the time, logical. shoko and gojo frequently hung out at bars until late into the night in the light novels. gojo only cared about her opinion about the bodyswap plan. shoko was stressed out of her mind for him. gojo gave her the letters to his students etc. the issue is that gege never fully expanded on their friendship and falling out, but those examples indicate that they meant a lot to each other

This happens when there’s trauma shared, people get distant. Something similar happened to me, I lost a friend during College and our friend group dissolved. I didn’t want to meet with them because it was a constant reminder that he was missing, and I’m sure the others felt the same.

they got older, they've both suffered a bunch, that's what close relationships look like when you're adults and colleagues with jobs to do and you're tired. it's a certain comfort level where you don't have to perform or entertain the other person. it doesn't look fun to kids but it's great. 🥰
