Sonya :
I got into Nick Cave when I was a teenager when he gave voice to all the pain and anger I was going through as an Indigenous girl dealing with racism and sexism. He taught me that I could make beauty out of my pain and angry. Thankful for his work ❤️

I lost my son, too. I am a high school film as literature teacher & we study The Shawshank Redemption whose central theme is the power of hope. I've fought really hard in my life after tragedy to stay hopeful; your letter resonates very deeply with me.
