I have a masters degree in psychopharmacology and I ended up instead of writing about the prompt for one paper writing how frustrating it was that many drugs are HORRIFIC for the person in so many ways and I ended up getting an A+ because I was the only one to truly call it out. I would love to be in research to help find better solutions.

I learned long ago you have to pick symptoms or side effects. My symptoms are unpredictable, uncontrollable, and pretty dangerous. I’m completely out of control with no end in sight. I have always picked side effects because they’re much more predictable, less intense, and I feel much more in control of what’s happening. Neither is an easy choice. Both have negatives and positives. You just have to decide which one makes your life better. Not always easier, but better.

checking my lithium levels on the 15th. but since I've been on seroquel, lamotrigine, lithium and duloxetine i haven't behaved in a life changing manner in public. glass half full.

My doctor is so against antipsychotics and I appreciate her so much for that😭 also she said “you’re not psychotic” & that made me feel so much better :( and she’s only against them bc of the side effects!! Lamitcal has changed my life and I used to be on trileptal :(

I have schizoaffective & like 4 other disorders. On 5 meds atm to manage it all. I'd take the side effects over no meds any day of my life. Stay stong yall.

I think the more depressing part for me, besides developing liver disease from lamictal, is that I became allergic to it after being on it for years 😭 it was the only thing that worked for my seizures for a long time. I’m 12 years massive seizure free and 2 years lamictal free. That rash almost took me out.

I've had bipolar/bpd symptoms + depression, anxiety, ocd, etc since early elementary school and my parents are extremely anti mental health meds, I used to be so smart and now I can't remember what I was thinking about less than a minute ago
