3 Beginner Friendly Vegetables to Grow!🫛🥔🌱 Spring is here! 🌱🌼 and with it, lots more options for seeds we can now sow 🙌🏻 but here are my top 3 beginner friendly vegetables that can be sown this month and how to sow them… The first one is peas 🫛 peas are really easy to grow and have to be one of my favourite things to eat straight from the garden and my favourite variety is ‘Blauschokker’. Pea seeds are large and easy to handle, you can pre soak them to speed up germination but you don’t have to. And I sow them two peas per module. You can even use a toilet roll tube just fold over one end, fill with compost, pop in your peas and add a little more compost to the top and then before you know it you’ll have pea seedlings popping up. 🌱 When the plants are around 3-4 inches I transplant them into a growing bed or pot and just ensure you give them something to climb. Potatoes 🥔 are really easy to grow too, I chit them (sprout them) prior to planting, on a windowsill but you don’t have to, and then I sow them at a towels depth into a growing bed and then cover over making sure they’re at least a few inches deep, you may need to mound them up, or add a little more mulch once the plants emerge to ensure sunlight does not reach the growing potatoes. Potatoes are also a good one to grow in pots, if you don’t have a lot of space, or to use up space around the garden where you can’t fit a bed. I plant 2-3 seed potatoes per pot depending on the size and once the plants die back, just harvest all your new potatoes. The last one is radish 🌱 Radish is really easy to grow from seed and crops within around 30 days. I multi sow them, so add 3-4 seeds per module, give them a bit of water and within no time you’ll have radish seedlings popping up. Then just dib a hole and transplant them into the growing bed, or you could just make a small depression in the growing bed, or in gaps between other crops and direct sow 3-4 seeds, cover over, water and then within a few weeks you’ll be harvesting your fresh radishes. So what have you been sowing so far this season? 😊🌱 #gardeningtips #growyourownfood #sowingseeds #vegetablegarden #growingplants
