I’m so happy I found your page! Thank you for being so transparent! I am just starting this journey. Began testing for MS in 2022, (negative results), then developed optic neuritis and hit menopause. (Yay me.;) The past year has been a major cognitive slide and was just diagnosed with mild cognitive impairment. Heading to Mayo in Rochester in June for testing, including repeat neuro testing, a new MRI and a PET scan. I’m going to keep checking in with you! It’s a frustrating journey, but nice to find this community.❤️

I know I’ve asked you this before but do they do the blood biomarker testing over there instead of the spinal tap?

Will this effect any financial support from government?

I go for my pet scan on the 25th to see what’s going on my 2 Moca tests were 20 out of 30 3 specialist told me 2 months ago not to drive I just turned 42 last week 😭 my processing and short term memory is not good . I stop at green lights and go at red … like wth, I always forget steps in everything I do in daily life if it takes 5 steps to do something I’m sure to only do 2 or 3 and for get the rest if it’s coming or driving or anything really. I constantly don’t know why I’m in a room in the house or what I got up for or what app I’m planning to go on …. Are you the same or have similar issues they say mine seems frontal lobe issues … I’m thinking my pet scan won’t show anything either nor did my MRI neurologist said sometimes it’s to early to detect on testing yet 😢 I just want answers like you… being in limbo Sucks especially when u know something isn’t right ❣️

I turned 50 in June and I started doing the cognitive testing three years ago. That way we can find out how quickly or how slowly I’m progressing. My MRI did show the white squiggly lines which I’ve been told is early onset. Dementia now my mother passed away at 65 and she started showing signs in her 40s. My sister is turning 40 in October and she was diagnosed at 33 with early onset, but I would request to do those cognitive testing that way every six months you go back and do a test and it’ll show whether you’re getting worse or you’re getting better.

Good for you! Alcohol is extremely hard on the brain. I have it up for my health too. Also have mci- and autoimmune disorders. Thanks for sharing.

My MRI showed atrophy but they couldn’t diagnose based on that. So they did a Spect CT which showed nothing. It literally took the combination of the MRI and the Lumbar Puncture to diagnose. Can you ask for that? Even if it comes back that one of the three proteins that would show Alz would indicate if it’s Premordial Alzheimer’s.

Good for you for stopping alcohol. Have you read the work of Dr. Daniel Amen? He has studied PET scans for 30+ years. He did a recent interview with Lewis Holmes that was excellent.
