YEAH.. BACK IN THE 70-80s.. you better be local to walk in there... Mr. Mayer knew when boats were coming in and went to the bank to get enough cash so they could cash their paychecks.. in talking 10s of thousands of dollars EACH .. THEY DRANK, PLAYED POOL JUST UNWINDED.. BUT YOU DIDNT STEP IN THERE AS A TOURIST.. NOW ITS ALL DIFFERENT, IN A GOOD WAY, SOMEWHAT. I KNEW THE WHOLE MAYER FAMILY, LIVELY PEOPLE

Many people who visit the restaurant, lobster house for many years,is now the owners of Mayer Tavern on the other side of the entrance to cape May. Being familiar with area ,down a little ways is C-View Tavern one of the oldest tavern in Cape May

Ironically, this is originally was a major major dive bar and little Miss Laudman turned it around after it closed and she did an amazing job. 🥰 I’m glad she kept it basic and she’s doing amazing.

Maybe ask what ever bar/restaurant your at and you ask ask the bartender where they go after hours or days off. You’ll find the best places and not a tourist trap!

He owns the lobster house…800 feet away in Lower township 👀 just to anger the little cape May peeps lol…visit sunset beach and cape May point , also not in cape May but in lower township lol 💪🏼
