If you didn’t like the book, you didn’t understand the book. My hot take.

I haven't read this yet but I HATE when people give books a bad review because they don't like a character, if the character is badly written, then sure, but an excellently written character can be dislikeable

When did her sister come out as gay? She was seeing a Pastor after her divorce?

Her sister does not come out as a lesbian. Natalie faces lesbian accusations and Shannon has a lesbian sister. You probably confused it. Stop skimming…

I appreciate your commentary and agree. If I could add something to your thoughts, it would be this: she never goes to church. Add that to her contradictions. She’s always talking about God and her faith, but her faith exists only in her speech. Obviously, we don’t see it in her her decisions, but the church is physically and one could argue spiritually absent from her told experience. There’s no pastor that we see; she doesn’t talk about services; and she doesn’t offer any experience with the church.

The book was good. But it ends too abruptly… it’s rushed. But otherwise, the main character is pretty real. People like her exist.

It was entertaining to read but I wouldn’t say this is a GOOD book. It had so many plot holes and some things just don’t make sense

I loved this one! Natalie’s internal monologue felt like an SNL skit. Funny in a deeply satirical way

I can’t stand when people “don’t like it bc I hated the characters” WHEN IT’S THE LITERAL POINT.
