@chief_malo: Can we stop this discourse that people nowadays are living above their means because that is not the case everything is more expensive and the amount of savings that we can get by taking away the luxuries of life is not enough to be worth it
my therapy bill went from 80$a month to 300 in two years

People who don't get takeout lack the understanding of why people get takeout so often. We have no time/energy. If I'm not picking it up, I'm not eating. I wish it was different but it's not like that right now.

it's sad that we have to even give up buying stuff just to make us happy so we can pay for bills.

It literally costs more for me to get groceries than get take out. Wanted to make burgers instead of take out and the 1 pound of ground beef costs more than a Wendy's MEAL does.

Another thing is that cutting out small joys takes a toll on your mental health. Not talking about large purchases- just little things that help a person stay sane.

Saving $2k a year, for a home down payment. Most cities you’ll probably need $20-$25k for down payments. Life too expensive.

Yup. how do I budget my way out of my insurance premium going up 33%, my deductible going from $700 a year to $8500, and my property taxes nearly doubling in the past 5 years? These are not my fault!

I’m not gonna work like a dog and be miserable. I’m keeping my Apple Music, I’mma continue buying my baby his Funko pops and comic books, and I’m keeping Netflix and Hulu for my other baby. Those are little luxuries they keep us sane in the world trying to drive us insane.
