Every time I contact someone after meeting them IRL, they basically tell me to check the company website for open job listings. I genuinely don’t understand the point of networking, nobody is able to do anything that you couldn’t already do with a google search

I’ve done this, but I’ve noticed that I’m typically the one that navigating the conversation. And if I’m not asking questions, the person doesn’t really seem interested to ask me anything. Do you have tips for that or maybe it’s just one of those things they’re not interested in talking to me😭

reminder that this is how MOST convos should go. Asking questions and being inquisitive about the person you’re talking to. If both people in the convo have social skills, then both would be asking questions and commenting. In this scenario, the guy lacks that and is not asking follow up questions / helping her with the convo which is why it might feel like an interrogation. Regardless, ask questions, respond to what they answer, continue
