All the comments saying ‘Why are we saying this in public?’ This is fulfilling the idea that it’s taboo and ‘shouldn’t be spoken openly’ about. Unfortunately that is how children can be manipulated into secrecy. The more normal it feels for them to talk about it to their parents the more likely they are to be able to come forward about it if anything ever happened. It doesn’t need to be awkward for them to raise this topic.

for everyone saying "but you're in public" needs to realise they need to make their kids aware that they can speak abt it in public if something was to happen and could help them speak up about it and this subject should not be some private thing that should be hidden
