it’s actually has nothing to do with them fully grasping it or not. it matters where they grab, above or slightly below the half way point. all of the weight is in the bottom of the staff meaning the lower you grab, the easier the staff becomes to lift. thats why when she hands it over she has their hands placed above hers not below. i’m not saying it’s not heavy but instead, physics is the real culprit (and the unknowing) on why it’s much harder to hold while “transferring” the staff apposed to just picking it up straight off the ground
