@simplychickensofficial: ⚠️ GRAPHIC CONTENT WARNING ⚠️ I debated posting this, but I think it’s important for chicken keepers to see the reality of predator risks- and most importantly, to STOP feeding crows if you free range your chickens. They are NOT friends. They are opportunists and will take advantage of docile hens, chicks, or smaller chickens. Bianca was one of my larger silkie hens. She was very docile and didn’t even fight back. My dogs were inside eating at the time- crows know routines and are extremely smart. The attack was pure evil and I’ve never seen anything like it. I’m sharing this for educational purposes, to spread awareness so hopefully fellow chicken keepers can avoid going through this pain. If I can help save any members of your flock, I will. Please don’t feed the crows. Negative or hateful comments will be deleted. RIP & fly high, Bianca. What! a crow did this!? I always thought crows were good to keep around to keep the hawks and eagles away. So sorry this happened. I guess I better keep an eye on crows as well.
