@deanna_art: Before you start tattooing, step back and design from a distance. Blur your eyes and check that your values and colors are balanced across the whole piece, not all sitting in one corner. Repeat the same element, whether that is a texture, a color, or a value, in two to three points throughout the design so the eye has a path to travel. Cut the noise, one to two subjects maximum, with one clear main focal point and one accent. Your highest lights and darkest darks belong at the focal point. Pick a color scheme and commit to it.
