Went to annual appointment that was suppose to be no co pay. Because my doctor asked a question about a previous issue. It ended up costing me a co pay. wtf is this. I didn’t initiate that. She did. What is the point of my annual appt if I can’t talk about everything.

im confused. insurance companies dont "upcode". facilities and providers do. this sounds like 2 conversations smashed into one. convo 1 is located saying theyre upcoding, saying people are sicker than they are to Medicare. this would be about docs and facilities. convo 2 is about insurance lowering reimbursement rates and increasing denials.

I was about to lose my mind if they were going to say doctors- why did they mention upcoding? Insurance companies are automatically DOWN coding E&M codes so doctors get paid less.
