to clarify why he was killed to people who dont know: first serbian revolt (the one he led) was unsuccessful because the ottomans could handle their losses, but serbs, a much smaller army, coundnt. karadjordje fled to austria and returned when the man who killed him, milan obrenovic, who started the 2nd revolt, milan killed him because he saw karadjordje fleeing austria as betrayal. milan then went to lead a successful revolt, giving serbia independence
