Nothing exciting I was given a second hand very high end luxury brand tshirt I’m so mad that it’s genuinely the best T-shirt I own. It just sits better, tucks better, it’s so flattering and it feels so nice.

I grew up SUPER poor and the first time I realized that money makes a difference when I used tide laundry detergent and my clothes came out clean and smelled so clean. I grew up on dollar store detergent! That’s one non-negotiable. In fact, I buy super luxurious homemade now.

Previous company I worked for had a corporate jet that I was able to use for certain business travel. It was so amazing flying private.

5* Hotel for 2 weeks, full room service, the whole works, for me and my kid (long before his little sister came along). I had a friend in that city so I asked her to come stay with us and we had a blast. Spoiled hotels for me after that. Close second was getting to sit in first class on a flight from Tokyo to Osaka bc there were only like... 3 or 4 of us on the plane. The flight attendants were amazing and so kind. (I know they're paid to be, but they genuinely went above and beyond for me.)

So most of this is legit rich people shit, but bruh, tailoring isn’t that expensive. But a shirt from Target can look home it cost 20x that with $20 with of tailoring.

Huge music buff. I used to volunteer ushering for various shows at the civic center. Usually the musicians were there for a benefit of sorts. It was a small venue. People would pay thousands of dollars for a seat and then just not go. After people were seated, we could do just whatever. Front row seat for Peter Fkin Frampton. It was incredible.

Work got a semi-private suite for a football game a couple of years ago. Free food and drinks, private bathroom, perfect view of the game, no stadium stairs (only nice inside stairs) and proper seats. I can never go to a normal game again.

won a holiday to LA, flights, $$$$ hotels in Santa Monica & West Hollywood, multiple activities, VIP Warners Bros & Universal Studio experiences. full small group tour guide straight onto rides that had a 2hour wait. full buffet lunch. it was a whole different level of holiday experiences that we would never have been able to afford. it was amazing

We got to be carted around the infield of a NASCAR race, meet Dale Jr. and Alex Bowman, got autographed driving gloves from both of them, get pictures with the cars before the national anthem, sit in a booth on pit row, catered food and drinks all day and night. I will never be able to sit in the stands and enjoy a race again.

I am poor but hung out with an actual aristocratic euro at an academic conference once, in Tuscany. he knew what wine and food to get at restaurants. it was absolutely fucking delicious.
