I moved from VA to FL in 1972 on this train with my parents, 5 brothers and sisters, our silver Chevy station wagon, and sedated basset hound. I was 10 years old and still remember this amazing trip. I was so excited I couldn't sleep and stayed up late with my parents in the lounge car!! Beautiful trip; beautiful memory.

My daughter attended college in VA and this auto train was so convenient and economical for her when she wanted to come home and didn’t want to deal with the aggravation of driving the long hours.

My Amtrak train got delayed for 8 or so hours. Was supposed to arrive on July 8th at 9am, ended up arriving at 2am on my birthday, which is the 9th. Thanks Amtrak.
