@manavpod: Scientists Are Turning Pond Algae Into Fuel Scientists are growing algae inside transparent tubes called photobioreactors where light, carbon dioxide, and temperature are perfectly controlled. The algae use photosynthesis to convert sunlight and CO2 into biomass which is then processed into biodiesel and clean fuel. The tubes work better than open ponds because more surface area means more light exposure, less contamination, and faster growth. But the part worth sitting with is this. The same organism that has been sitting ignored in ponds for centuries absorbs carbon dioxide while producing fuel and cleaning the air simultaneously. It does three things at once that we have been trying to solve separately with expensive technology for decades. Most conversations about clean energy are about things we still need to build or invent. This one is about something that already exists and has been quietly doing the work this whole time. The answer might not need to be created from scratch. It might just need to be taken seriously. Comment if you know of more examples like this and follow for more. #STEM #Tech
