Roller Coaster Riders Claim Restraints Were Acting Weird Before Man’s Fatal Fall A park visit turned tragic on October 12 after a man fell to his d*ath from the Goliath roller coaster at Six Flags Over Georgia. Authorities identified the vict*m as 42-year-old Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem, a beloved IT manager at a local academy. Police stated a preliminary investigation revealed Kariem was ejected from the ride and struck other patrons before falling beneath the attraction. Riders who were on the coaster at the time reported that seat restraints were acting strangely before takeoff. One couple recalled hearing a strange noise as the restraints kept clicking like they were unlocking and re-locking, prompting park workers to check the harnesses multiple times. The scene toward the end of the ride was described by a witness as similar to a horror movie, leaving riders traumatized. Family friends shared that Kariem had previously overcome severe health struggles, including cancer, making his sudden loss even more heartbreaking. Six Flags Over Georgia expressed deep condolences and stated they are fully cooperating with investigators. While the park is set to reopen, the Goliath roller coaster will remain temporarily closed.
