@stereogum: The new single from London dance-punks @Fat Dog doesn’t sound the way you might expect a song called “Go Fuck Urself” to sound. It’s a bouncy, ecstatic synthpop jam with a huge singalong chorus. Fat Dog frontman Joe Love co-produced “Go Fuck Urself” with Olivia Dean/Rachel Chinouriri collaborator Oli Bayston, and Nine Screens directed a fun video for it. Love rocks a cowboy hat and leather vest while the band and some cheerleaders perform in a wrestling ring, as stand-ins for various pop stars look on in disapproval. Since Fat Dog’s debut album ‘WOOF.’ in 2024, we’ve heard a couple of one-off singles — “Peace Song” and “Pray To That” — plus members’ side projects ELLiS·D and Morgan Noise. They have a lot of UK and Europe tour dates coming up, including shows opening for Foo Fighters and Kneecap, so it’s a great time for “Go Fuck Urself” — you can already imagine it becoming a highlight of their live set.
