I think Forscan can take care of the ambient lighting issue.. I just installed mine on Sunday, and reached out to their customer support for the ambient lighting, volume not showing on the screen, and the bottom of the screen on mine shows the climate controls rather that home, CarPlay, settings, and the up and down arrows. They told me that I could get into Forscan and they could fix it all for me.

There is a 12 inch sync 3 system it looks the same. The Apple car play is actually full screen and you get to keep your ambient lighting. And it’s half the price

You’re never gonna get a perfect fit out of those kits. The only way to get a perfect fit is to get a true 2022 dash that already had sync 4

I have a 2020 King Ranch with the 360 camera system I bought the kit in May my truck feels more premium with 2026 technology I love the sync 4 upgrade I also got from the same company a 360 camera system upgrade when I signal left or right the side that a signaled appears on my 12 inch display I've had the company contact me and they had a service tech come over to my house to do updates workout some bugs that I didn't know they even existed I am really happy with the system since now I feel like I'm driving a premium truck with the latest premium technology it's worth it to me
