@drwendy_physicaltherapy: Research shows high-impact exercise like jumping, heel drops, and power-based loading may help maintain or improve bone mineral density, especially at the hip and spine. Translation? Your bones like impact. Not just walking. Controlled impact sends a signal to bone that says: “Hey, we still need this tissue.” Even simple movements like: • Heel drops • Small hops • Jump training …can stimulate bone remodeling when programmed appropriately. One long-term study in postmenopausal women found weighted vest plus jumping exercise helped maintain hip bone density over 5 years. Another randomized trial showed weight-bearing impact exercise improved BMD in healthy postmenopausal women. This does NOT mean everyone should suddenly start box jumping in menopause. Dose matters. Progression matters. But women deserve to know that bone responds to mechanical loading, and impact training is part of that conversation. Sigh. 😮💨 I know you don’t want to add one more thing, but this is real deal amazing. PMID: 7605708 PMID: 12919708 PMID: 36749350 PMID: 38305252 #bonehealth #menopause #jumping
I didnt know I was doing Japanese heel drops, but I've been religious about it accidentally.

Ok so this is what I’m gathering. Jump rope warmup, 45min of lifting weights, end with heel drops. Also 30min walk after each meal? I should just quit my job so I can fit all this in and meal prep.

Hear me out I'm 61 years old, so if I'm correct, I am lifting weights(sarcopena), walking(heart health), sprinting(fast twitch), jumping(bones)doing mobility and balance work(so I don't fall), and a little bit of meditation to keep my cortisol under control. Does that about cover it 🫠

I mean we did a LOT of jumping in the club during college. Surely that was enough for a lifetime, right?
