I taught for 7 years and never worked less than 50 hours a week the entire time school was in session. I work in higher ed now as an administrator and my life is so much easier it’s laughable

The general public has no concept that we don’t get paid for all the behind the scenes stuff we do- we don’t actually get to “work” during our student contact hours.
