@.carolgiselle: I’m huge on communication in my classroom and I truly believe even our youngest learners are capable of learning how to express themselves in meaningful ways. Today I modeled exactly how I teach communication skills in my classroom and getting to hear the students’ live reactions and feedback was honestly my favorite part. Moments like this remind me how important it is to give kids the space to use their voice. I really wish I had experiences like this when I was in school 🤍 #TeacherTok #TeachersOfTikTok #ElementaryTeacher #ClassroomCommunity #LearnOnTikTok

I would love to see how you introduce some of these call and responses in the start of the school year! As I will be a first year teacher I love the communication you have in your classroom!

This is my 20th year teaching first grade and I have to say this is phenomenal engagement. Kids these days don’t know how to have appropriate discourse. Not in this class thanks to this teacher! You are amazing!

So many layers of learning happening here. Respectful listening and communication, confidence building, explaining thinking, allowing others to learn from multiple ideas being built on. Every student feels a part of the lesson even if they aren't speaking in front of the class. Much respect!!

Seeing stuff like this always makes me cry. I was such a quiet and anxious child all through my grade school years until I reached junior high. My home life was a war zone and my private school was traumatizing. I had no safe space. I’ve often considered becoming a teacher to give to children what I never had growing up and this is the style of teaching I admire most. 💜

I love that you are sharing this for two reasons...1. you are doing a phenomenal job of teaching the WHOLE child, and modeling it for other teachers here. 2. this, all day long, with 20-30 kids, is HARD WORK and exhausting. no matter how much you love it, Teaching requires you to be "ON" for 8+ hours. it is the greatest job and also incredibly emotionally, mentally, and physically draining! Thank you for all that you do!
