He would rather talk on the phone when i have something to confront him… when we get on the phone i freeze up. Texting is easier for me to get my thoughts across. He doesn’t read the texts. Never has. The paragraphs were sent in vain. No response. Just “stop text battling and answer the phone.”

This was for me the final eye opener. When we had a discussion in WhatsApp, i put his messages in chatgpt and ask chatgpt to make a the best way and a respectful reply. So that I could make my own version of it and not get too emotionally involved. At the time, Chatgpt felt his messages weren't really suitable for a relationship.
