@doodaodoo: At first, he kept grieving over Dao, then later he started hallucinating about him. He even started obsessing, but it was only a piece of his bloody heart, still pumping and alive, which makes Najma think that he can feel his body and that he's actually there with him. - Najma would lock himself in a room with Dao's heart, neglecting his kids, while he was over there obsessing over the last thing he had of him. One day, he ate his heart, not knowing he was still hallucinating and mistook it for Dao feeding him. After he realized what he had just eaten, he went completely crazy. Instead of being digested, it became a part of his body. But Najma wasn't going crazy over that, he went crazy because he couldn't see Dao anymore, which made him lose his mind. Every day he couldn't handle not seeing Dao anymore because he had basically "eaten" the one thing he had of him. The loneliness made him lose it, he'd scratch his body, tearing his own skin apart, which explains most of the scars on his body.
