@lanepaysoffdebt: POV: every extra payment started adding up faster than I ever imagined. We’ve paid almost $40,000 off our HELOC total and $16,000 toward principal just this calendar year. High interest debt can feel impossible until you start watching the balance actually move. Nurse by night, debt payoff by every spare dollar. #DebtPayoff #HELOCPayoff #PersonalFinance #MortgageDebt #FinancialFreedom @Lane’s40+beautyFinds

Callie Bertsch :
yeah I would definitely refinance your mortgage to a fixed rate once you get the HELOC down to 40k. out of curiosity how big is your house?

STAR 🌟 :
As a mortgage underwriter you are doing the best job at paying down that HELOC and paying yourself back on your retirement. You did awesome at explaining how paying down that principle is so effective 👏

That is some discipline to get those down. Curious about the tax/insurance here. For my payment 2/3 is tax/insurance and the other 1/3 is mortgage. Fortunate rate is 2.65 but as a single dad if I ever wanted to move I would not be getting an upgrade on the current home.

Girl, this is amazing! I have a HELOC that’s set up in the same way. I’ve been paying it down early too cause our payment was $800 of just interest for the first 10 years 😭

Homes have to go down in price or I have to make a lot more money. I don’t see how it will ever happen.
