Step 6: Embrace the emotion, as if it were a small child inside you. Step 7: Ask yourself where this emotion has come from—what are its causes and conditions? Step 8: Ask yourself what you can do with those causes and conditions. Can you change them? If you can, the emotion is guiding you to change them. If you can't, then you have to accept the situation as it is unfolding.
