No because why do I have memories of Herbert Benson?!?! I’m not exactly sure how he is related but I looked him up and he did do the global meditation study and how prayer impacts people… I found out his name later! But I remember his face and his secretary’s face VERY WELL!

OP, I was in the GATE program in ‘97ish ‘98 in Monterey as well. I believe the school was Foothill or something like that?

Was anyone in hi cap? Ik that is a state mandated program so it’s entirely different but I’m just curious- that is the only “gifted” program our school offered to my knowledge

Yep, literally can’t remember anything from “pace” and the other “special” class I was in when I went to magnet school. I remember being pulled out of class as early kindergarten or first grade in elementary school. I remember distinctly reading at a far advanced level like high school or college level in the first grade

i always thought it was so strange that i was always pulled out of class for GATE stuff yet i had a twin sister that was straight A student and wayyy smarter than me and wasn’t part of it

Had a head injury in 10th grade and when I awoke I had memories from before I could even crawl as a baby very clear memories of places and locations that I hadn’t been to since I was a baby. I can recount every teacher and class room I had been in from pre school -12th grade except my life from 3rd-4th grade when I to was in the gate program. I always thought it’s very odd….. 😬😬

I vividly remember having the very controllable ability to fly in my dreams as a kid. Like it was something I looked forward to every night. Then I just “lost” the ability around the time I was in the gifted program

not to disregard anyone’s experiences but the more comments I read, the more this sounds like a case of mass hysteria. everything ya’ll are describing is the reality for many children. the fluoride, the hearing test, the eye test, the reading test were used school wide, regardless of being in the gifted and talented programs. there’s also been cases of people sharing the same dreams because of the brains structure and similar environmental factors. and childhood amnesia is common as humans age, these comments are probably triggering those memories.
