I go to every one of my kids events/games/concerts because I helped create them and want to see them succeed. They are under no such obligation to reciprocate that. I would love to have them there if I do perform (considering getting back into acting) but I want them to prioritize their own lives and such first.

NTA for wanting to go with their friends but I can also see their parents side. They committed already 2 months ago and sometimes you do have to miss out on some things that might be more enjoyable to keep your plans with people you already made plans with. They are adults and this is a really good lesson to keeping your word to people. You can always plan something later with friends. Summer or other breaks. Just go with your parents since you made those plans first. It'll hurt them otherwise.
