It's not that hard to leave and find a church that actually cares about whether you're even there. I was Catholic, now I'm Lutheran (LCMS). Started by a former Catholic, Martin Luther. Very happy there too.

It’s not even about history, but about the fact that it actually makes sense. Obviously Mary is the Mother of God. Obviously the Eucharist is not just a symbol. Obviously the saints are in heaven, etc..
