I always have to sit with a blanket on my lap. I went on a weekend away with my husband and thought his bag was bigger than normal. We sat down for the evening, it started getting cold and my husband opens his bag and pulls out my favourite big throw rug. His luggage was 50% rug

I get it. Mine was when my ex ate the leftovers I was going to take to work. He knew that was my lunch, he knew that we didn’t have money or time for me to go get something to replace it, it was already in my lunch bag, he ate it anyway. He was fine w/me going hungry for the day bc he wanted it for a snack the night before.

I like to drink 3litres of water throughout the day.. however since having babies I kept getting headaches because I wasn’t drinking much with being busy.. my husband noticed and asked why I wasn’t drinking and I said I just don’t get the chance to make a drink and fill it and finish it.. he bought 3 Stanley drinking cups; every night before bed he fills them with cold water and puts them in the fridge. I don’t even have to think about it because I know I can just grab and drink on the go.. When he comes home from work he ALWAYS checks to see if they’ve been drank… if they’ve not he will literally hand me it and say ‘drink now’ and take the babies to play. It’s such a small thing, but it’s not a small thing, to me it’s huge. I thank him regularly and I tell him it’s one of the most loving gestures I’ve ever received. My love language is acts of service.. his is words of affirmation- we have it down 🫶🏼

When we make small acts of service to our spouses a habit just bc we know what they like, it’s a demonstrative way of expressing love and consideration. When we stop is demonstrative as well.

My partner typically gets up about an hour before I do in the morning most days. She has two eggs for her breakfast. I have one. Every single morning she leaves one egg out for me in this little dish on the counter. I make it a point to thank her for that pretty often but holy cow there was one time, she forgot to leave an egg out for me. I thought it was over.
