I’d say what helped me the most is having an old guitar that someone filed down and that I put the wrong strings on. nylon classical instead of acoustic. It sounds kinda off cause it’s basically unsalvageable but it was so much easier to learn the chords. After I got a bit confident with them I switched to a better guitar which is way harder but I can do it now.
